THE FRIDAY FIVE - PHOTOSETS TO COME - YOU VOTE!

FRIDAY FIVE - This week's Friday 5 will be dedicated to all those events that I've been talking about in my "Where Have You Been?" post.  These are the top 5 events of the last three months that have enough photo or video footage to keep me editing for far longer than I could have possibly imagined.  They are also the events that were so wonderfully exciting and important to me that I have found myself at a loss for words in how to properly describe them so that justice is done.  With that being said, I am offering you, my readers, the opportunity to choose which of these events will get posting priority.  Please leave your vote in the comments section of this page!  And now, without further adieu, the events...

#5 - NYC "UNITED WE DANCE" PARADE
Thousands of dancers in hundreds of styles gather together to parade down Broadway in a dazzling spectacular of colors, music, and motion.  The fun does not end when the parade leaves the streets, for dance lessons, dance parties, and other assorted shenanigans ensue at Tompkins Square Park until the sun goes down and everyone travels to the enormous after party.

#4 - FIGMENT
"The dreamport is never far away when you use your imagination!" -Disney
Figment is a yearly outdoor art festival on Governor's Island that takes place in early June.  Complete with interactive sculpture gardens, live performances, and an all day dance party on Picnic Point, Figment offers something for all ages and interests.  Some art is there to make a statement, some is there just to be fun, while others are there only because of YOUR contributions to the ever-growing and ever-evolving pieces of art.  A place to play, relax, and explore, Figment is by far my favorite event of the year and best of all, it's FREE!

#3 - CONEY ISLAND TRIP
Check out some photographs of famous Coney Island & Luna Park and some memories of my first time on the Cyclone.  A very mellow and low-key day with some pretty pictures that will make you smile.

#2 - BLACK & LIGHT BALL
Held at a different location every year, the Black & Light Ball is an artistic dancing experience.  Hosted by Kostume Kult ("a costume art, theme event and street-theater club") guests come in their blacklight-responsive best to dance the night away to various DJs, check out and interact with some glowing art installations, and enjoy drink specials while watching a few group performances.  Glowing hula hoops are welcome here and there is a blacklight body paint station when you first walk in (just in case you didn't want to dress up and take the train).  This is definitely the event of the year that is not to be missed!

#1- MAGIC TOM & TINA'S GATSBY-ERA WEDDING!
This particular event shaped my entire year and probably is the reason why my life is heading in the direction that it currently is today.  "Magic Tom", my oldest friend from college, wedded his sweetheart Tina on June 16th in front of close friends and family at the beautiful Benmarl Winery.  Keeping with the theme of The Great Gatsby, place settings, music, and even the bridesmaids' dresses were all in roaring 20s accordance.  The weather was beautiful, the bride was beautiful, and the groom was beaming as she walked down the aisle.  I won't even get started on the food, but I'll say that the caterer was everything I'd read about her.  Wow.  This entry will be a beautiful photoset of the afternoon and evening events.

OKAY, READERS!  Now it's up to YOU!
Which event would YOU like me to blog about NEXT!?
