Too hot to turn the oven on but craving garlic bread? Don't have an oven? Try this super quick and easy recipe for NO-BAKE GARLIC BREAD!
INGREDIENTS
1 Loaf of Fresh Italian Bread, 3 Cloves of Garlic, Butter (or butter substitute), Fresh Basil Leaves
TOOLS
Knives, Toaster, Small Bowl, Microwave (optional)
NOTES
For this recipe I used Country Crock, but you are welcome to use butter or any substitute.
If you are using regular butter, allow it to soften and mix it until creamy.
If you are using Country Crock or Earth Balance out of a tub you are good to go!
READY TO MAKE NO-BAKE GARLIC BREAD!? GO!
GARLIC BUTTER
Mince your cloves of garlic. This means make them into tiny chunks like this.
Scoop a few spoonfuls of butter into your tiny bowl and fold in minced garlic.
SLICE THE BREAD
Hold your loaf the long way and create slices small enough to fit in your toaster.
Place the ends of the bread off to the side to snack on later.
TOAST THE BREAD
Get to know your toaster if you don't already. Find a setting where the center of the bread begins to toast and the outside browns but doesn't burn...
Unless of course you like your bread burnt, then by all means...
IMPORTANT!
KEEP THE TOASTED BREAD HOT!
I ended up toasting 4 pieces of bread at a time, so for best results I only removed one piece at a time so all the bread stayed hot enough to melt the butter.
GARLIC-BUTTER THE BREAD
Cover BOTH SIDES of your toasted bread in garlic butter.
Place onto a plate around the outside leaving the center of the plate open.
MICROWAVE THE BREAD (OPTIONAL)
Place the bread in the microwave on high for about 25-30 seconds or less.
This will soften the bread slightly and will finish melting the butter into the bread.
GARNISH THE BREAD
Tear up a few leaves of fresh basil and sprinkle them onto the garlic bread slices.
SERVE AND ENJOY!
(OH! and if you don't plan to be a garlic monster, obviously use less garlic)
