ESSENTIAL EXPLORATION: DOWN COMFORTER

ESSENTIAL EXPLORATION | This exploration into essential oil blending is called "Down Comforter."  I combined 3 drops of lemon essential oil with 2 drops of lavender in my InnoGear Diffuser to create a gentle good morning blend of zesty lemon softened and feathered by lavender into an aromatic exhale and up-curled lip smile that feels much like hugging a big, fluffy, creamy pastel yellow down comforter as the sunlight begins to shine through your window on your first day of vacation.  The beauty of aromatherapy with this diffuser is that I can adjust the color of its glow to match the mood exactly.

BUFFALO CHICKEN VEGGIE QUESADILLAS

RECIPE | BUFFALO CHICKEN VEGGIE QUESADILLAS

I love quick meals and using up all my leftovers, so naturally creative quesadillas are an automatic go-to for me.  This beauty made use of the roasted chicken I had for a previous dinner and was spiced up with a few versatile goodies I keep in my fridge and freezer.  You can either bake these in the oven and/or cook them stove top.  The quesadilla pictured above was actually a left-over from an oven-baked batch that I decided to reheat by pan-frying it in a bit of butter to golden crispiness!

TEA JOURNAL | RUM & CHAIDER

TEA JOURNAL | RUM & CHAIDER:  Once upon a time a few year's back, I was visiting friends at a cute little pub in a cute little New York town.  On the bar of that cute little pub in the cute little town was a great big slow cooker filled with spiced apple cider... which they served to us warm and wonderful with a special twist... RUM.  (My favorite!)  Now that is fine and wonderful and delicious and perfectly excellent on a cold night all on its own, but let's take it up a notch, shall we?  For this we need another short tale... Once upon a Fall afternoon, I stumbled upon sweet and fancy little tea shop in Boston and was offered my first taste of Chai tea (something I had otherwise been avoiding due to the intensity of the flavor and my inclination toward green tea) steeped in... you guessed it... hot apple cider.  So let's take these two brilliant ideas and throw them together in a cute little pink teapot and enjoy kicking back in our cozies on a cold and snowy day, now shall we?

CASHEW CREME RASPBERRY MOCHA

After a week of being spoiled silly in southern Colorado by the expansive sky, majestic mountains, fantastic local food, and outrageously delicious coffee beverages, I felt my life lacking in the gritty Big Apple.  The extraordinarily expensive food drink here pales in comparison to what the south west has to offer.

FIRE FACE SUNNY SIDE QUINOA

Here's a super easy (and super spicy) five ingredient meal for under $5.  Nothing fancy here, but it sure looks and tastes it.  Prep takes nearly no time and uses up barely any ingredients for a fairly filling yet light and healthy dinner.  Ready to raid your fridge for the ingredients?  I'll bet you have them.  The only tricky one is the quinoa, but that's not in the fridge anyway, it's in the pantry. :)
